Apple's senior technical officers have praised the Hogarth facility for realising the potential of their new technology. Designed and managed by Cortex, the Hogarth production system will not only support 60 Final Cut workstations at 164 Shaftesbury Avenue but also offer a mastering facility for the whole Final Cut Pro community on SohoNet.
Cortex has been appointed by ESPN Classic to help update their systems from Avid technology to an end-to-end file based platform using Apple Final Cut Pro and Final Cut Server. This will allow a more collaborative approach to their content production, with more than one editor able to work simultaneously on the same footage. It also means they can manage their content more easily. The new file-based asset library can be accessed at a keystroke, completely eliminating the traditional hunt for the tape.
