Creating Value. Valuing Creativity
To achieve lower print production costs Hogarth's Shaftesbury Avenue facility has been designed to operate efficiently and on a very large scale, with the capacity to operate up to 120 workstations (60 seats on two shifts). Process efficiency is driven by our FIDO software (Fully Integrated Data and Operations) which automates the pre-press processes as well as feeding our finance and approvals systems, and our asset library. To ensure that none of the creative quality is lost we have a two stage quality control process ensuring content and colour accuracy.
For job and cost tracking just go with the FIDO
Hogarth's print production process utilises FIDO (Fully Integrated Data and Operations) our proprietary process management software to achieve a new level of automation and job tracking. Think of it as enterprise software that keeps every stage of every job both organised and traceable. To develop this FIDO platform Hogarth teamed up with software engineers from Encode, Sage and Esko. On the print production side of our business FIDO incorporates all the pre-press processes that can be automated, as well as finance and our web-mediated approvals system. FIDO feeds the work automatically into an approvals process which is customised for each client's approval procedure, for example the process can accommodate either tiered, centralised or collaborative on-line approval.
Total transparency saves money
Hogarth has found that sharing our detailed understanding of the production process is often the best starting point to achieve substantial improvements in cost-efficiency. Rigorous application of activity-based costing to all aspects of the process not only clarifies how the total cost is generated but also indicates areas for cost-cutting process-improvement.
